Project Overview

Bold Color. Massive Island.
A Kitchen Built to Be Lived In

The Eastcliff kitchen in Shorewood started with a homeowner who had a clear vision: they wanted a kitchen that felt like a statement — not a neutral backdrop. Two-tone navy and white cabinetry, a massive custom island with a curved circular breakfast bar extension, a custom-fabricated navy metal range hood, marble herringbone tile running the full perimeter, and a built-in banquette dining nook that made the dining room feel like a destination rather than an afterthought.

SilverBullet managed the complete gut renovation — demolition, rough-in relocation, full custom cabinetry installation, countertop fabrication and installation, tile work, appliance integration, and all custom millwork including the built-in banquette. Permitted and built under the Village of Shorewood's residential building codes in Will County, this project pushed every trade on the job to deliver at the level the design demanded.

The Island: A Room-Defining Statement Piece

The island is the architectural centerpiece of the Eastcliff kitchen — and it was designed to earn that role. The main island body is a full-depth navy shaker cabinet run with brass mesh decorative inserts, white quartz countertop, and integrated seating on one side. But it's the circular breakfast bar extension that makes this island singular: a raised curved counter surface supported by a custom-built pedestal base, providing an intimate four-seat gathering zone that feels separate from the main kitchen workflow while staying visually connected to it.

Two globe pendant lights suspended on antique brass chains drop directly over the circular bar — a lighting placement decision that required careful coordination between the electrical rough-in and the final island position. Getting this right during framing, before drywall, is the kind of sequencing detail that separates a project that looks planned from one that looks improvised.

The Cooking Wall: Thermador, Custom Hood & Double Ovens

The cooking wall at Eastcliff is anchored by a Thermador 6-burner professional range and flanked by a KitchenAid double wall oven stack — an appliance configuration that required a full electrical and gas rough-in upgrade to support. Above the Thermador, a custom-fabricated navy metal range hood with a walnut cap and stainless liner serves as the visual centerpiece of the back wall, its color matched exactly to the cabinet finish and its proportions scaled to command the full height of the cooking zone.

The marble herringbone backsplash runs uninterrupted across the full width of the cooking wall and wraps the perimeter — a continuous field of natural stone that required careful setting and grouting to maintain the diagonal pattern alignment at every corner and inside angle. This isn't a job that gets subcontracted to the cheapest tile crew. It requires someone who knows how to read a room and set tile with a plan.

Two-Tone Cabinetry: Navy Below, White Above

The two-tone approach at Eastcliff uses navy blue shaker-style lower cabinets and island paired with white painted upper cabinets featuring glass-front doors — a combination that keeps the kitchen bright and airy at eye level while letting the bold color anchor the base of the room. Brass knobs and bar pulls run consistently across both cabinet colors, tying the two palettes together with a warm metallic through-line.

The upper cabinets include both closed and open glass-front doors with wood-tone interiors — a detail that adds warmth and visual depth to what would otherwise be a flat painted surface. The open shelving sections provide display space while the glass doors allow the interior to read as curated rather than cluttered.

The Banquette & Wine Tower:
Every Inch Designed

The Eastcliff project extended beyond the kitchen footprint into the adjacent dining space — where SilverBullet built a fully custom corner banquette with upholstered bench seating in a blue patterned fabric, a painted millwork base matching the kitchen cabinetry, and a dining table positioned to seat six. The banquette is flanked by wall sconces and sits beneath a bold geometric abstract painting that anchors the color story of the whole first floor.

On the opposite side of the kitchen, a full-height butler's pantry column was built with integrated wine bottle storage, solid navy shaker door fronts, and brass knob hardware — extending the kitchen's storage and visual presence into the transition zone between the kitchen and dining room. Details like this — millwork that connects kitchen to dining as a cohesive designed environment — are what turn a renovation into a home transformation.

The Eastcliff project was permitted and built through the Village of Shorewood in Will County — SilverBullet's extended service territory south and southwest of our Lombard base. Shorewood's residential market has grown significantly over the past decade, and the homes here — many of them from the late 1990s through 2010s — are arriving at the ideal age for a first serious kitchen renovation.

SilverBullet serves all of Will County for residential kitchen remodeling, including Shorewood, Joliet, Plainfield, Romeoville, and Bolingbrook. The Eastcliff project is one of our most complete kitchen transformations in this market — and evidence that the same level of work we deliver in Naperville and DuPage County is available to Will County homeowners who expect more.

What It Takes to Execute a Kitchen Like This
in Will County

The Eastcliff kitchen required a contractor who could hold a complex design vision across every trade — cabinetry, tile, electrical, plumbing, appliance rough-in, and custom millwork — while maintaining the precision that a high-contrast color scheme and natural stone tile demand. Any misalignment in a two-tone kitchen reads immediately. Any break in the herringbone tile pattern draws the eye. There's no hiding the work when the design is this specific.

SilverBullet is a veteran-owned general contractor serving Will County from our base in Lombard. We bring the same military discipline to job-site management that we bring to client communication — clear timelines, written scopes, and a team that doesn't walk off the job until the work is done right. If you're planning a kitchen remodel in Shorewood or anywhere in Will County, call us.
